Happy Birthday Lainey!

I realize this post is a few days late, but she knows it doesn't mean any less :)

On Tuesday one of my besties celebrated her 26th birthday!

Happy Birthday Elaine Foxy Flores!

I share many a wonderful memory with Elaine, so many that I can't encompass them all here, but here are a few:

- Zeta and all the functions/exec meetings/chapter meetings/pledging together

- Trip to Williamsburg, VA, Denver, CO

- Concerts

- Surviving law school together (even though we were in totally separate states, we wallowed together in the work load every day via email, and that hasn't change now its just transferred to real world work)

- Friday lunches, Spice, Friends episodes, Gilmore Girls, Cornbread Salad, Baylor fball games, Crickets, and many many more.

I'm so thankful to have Elaine as one of my friends for her encouragement, support, wittyness, laughter, advice and much more.

Much Love,

"Laws too gentle are seldom obeyed; too severe, seldom executed." - Ben Franklin

Week in a recap:

Monday: Caught up on some of my tv shows. Particularly:

Tuesday: Made Patrick and I dinner and watched:

This is Patrick and I's weekly tuesday tradition - he comes over from work at about 9, I save him whatever dinner I cooked, he eats, and we watch the biggest loser. We both enjoy the show!

Wednesday: Rodeo! This year I didn't go to as many rodeo shows that I normally do. I had the opportunity to go see Brad Paisley, Keith Urban, and Taylor Swift, but things arose that prevented those three. I was glad when Laura invited me to go see Gary Alen on Wed! She, Jen, and I went to eat at Pei Wei, and then caught most of the rodeo action - which I love and secretly wonder what life would be like as a cow girl livin on the rode doing the rodeo circuit. Gary Allen did a great job performing, although he comes across outwardly as an alternative rocker. Had a great time and wish I could have seen more performances.

Thursday: Kayla's Bday dinner/drinks. We all met up at this outdoor bar last night for Kayla's bday and to see Hunter as he is newly returned from a year in Iraq.

On the Plate:

Tonight i'm going bowling with Kate, Steve, Patrick and some other friends. Should be a good time. I did take bowling at baylor, doesn't mean I am any good.

Saturday - lots of errands, then hanging out with friends.

Not a lot planned this weekend which is sometimes how I like it!

Much love.

Yay: Sunshine.

Dang: Sleeping through my trainer session this morning, oops.

Weekend in Boerne

Well, I realized I have way too much to update on that well I'm just going to start fresh.

Last week my mom came into town to visit for the week. We had such a great time! On Tuesday night I met her and my sister/bro inlaw for dinner at my mom's fave Pearland establishment Las Rosas. On Wed. i took a half day and went shopping at the outlets with my mom and sis. We spent a good part of the afternoon shopping! That night we had dinner at my mom's favorite houston thai restaurant, Thai Pepper, and then I had them over for yummy dessert and champagne afterwards. Thursday my mom and kate met me for lunch downtown and that night we I wasn't feeling hot and had to stay at work late, so I ended up just eating dinner w/ them at Kate's house. I had a great time and I miss her so much!

This past weekend Patrick and I went to Boerne. Did I mention Boerne is one of my most favorite places in the world. It's so pretty and relaxing. That night we had dinner and just hung out inside (it was fuh-reezing outdoors). His brother Travis and his wife Kara and their 4 kids were in Boerne as well. The next day the girls went shopping and the boys did their thing, whatever that is. That night we watched two movies (Australia and Cold Mountain). I enjoyed both since I hadn't seen either, no one else really did other than Patrick's dad who picked the movies. Sunday we lazed around then headed back that afternoon to Houston. too bad the weather wasn't nicer b/c I could have used a day at the pool.

This week is pretty busy at work, but should make the weekend come sooner (even though i have nothing major planned this weekend, which isn't a bad thing).

My Callie is currently sitting at the door meowing b/c she thinks I left when I just opened the door to put trash outside. Poor thing. Oh okay, no worries, she found me and is sitting on my shoulder looking at my computer as I type this.

I'm watching Big Love right now - I like this show a lot!

Much Love

Yay: Rodeo tomorrow night!
Dang: Stupid cold.

Happy Birthday Kayla (and Happy St. Patrick's Day!)

Happy Birthday Kayla!!

Today is a good friend of mine's 26th Birthday. Kayla and I met at Baylor. We were both in PAD (prelaw fraternity together), except I only knew her as the Prez. I got to know her a lot better when we both ended up in the same section at UHLaw and spent three years of law school together. I have great memories with Kayla from - Galveston trips, Vegas, long chats, great laughs, Boerne, concerts, and many many more. I know she is happy today because her husband Hunter is getting back from Iraq today (after serving a year)! What a perfect birthday present :)

Happy Happy Birthday to THREE Wonderful College Roomies

Well...i've been a bit delayed on my happy birthday posts so here ya go (I apologize):

#1: Happy Birthday Can-DICE :)

Candice is an amazing friend. She and I were roommates at good ole BU for two years! She lived in the bedroom down the hall from me at our apt at UP. I am blessed to call Candice a friend. We spent many a late night chatting, watching silly TV, eating chips and salsa from Chili's, and many many more memories. Candice is now in texas and I'm so happy one of my roommates from college came back to this state :) I am so glad to have her in my life!

#2: Happy Birthday Heid!

Happy belated birthday Heidi :) Heidi is an awesome person. She and I shared a room for two years at BU. She was an awesome "room" mate and put up with my messyness (me, messy, never). We shared many a late night talk, and laughs - including a re-enactment of protons and electrons (don't ask), gymnastics late night during rush in our apt, which i'm sure our downstairs neighbors loved, all the fun Zeta events, encouragement and support during LSAT and Exec, and many more fun memories. I am blessed to have her in my life and wish we talked more, hopefully that'll change soon!

#3: Happy Birthday Sarah! (today is her birthday!)

Happy Birthday Sarah!!! You are such a wonderful person. I have such great memories with you from college, most of them involve laughing and being silly, playing pranks on the boys downstairs, common grounds conversations, interesting fellows, visits to Texas after you moved away, and many many more memories. You are an awesome friend and I'm blessed to have you in my life (and to share the same name of cours ;) )

I know its been a while since I've posted. No worries I'll do a big update in a few days :) Until then...
Much Love.

yay: Mom visiting!

Weekend(s) Update.

Well I have had some fun weekends lately and realized I haven't posted about them!

- Opera! A few weeks back Patrick's boss invited he and I to go to the Opera with she and her boyfriend. We accepted, and I am sure glad we did! We saw Chorus! from the Houston Opera. It was a compilation of different chorus numbers from popular operas put to their own story. I loved it. We sat in a box (pretty woman style, minus the hooker part), and ate a fancy dinner beforehand. During intermission they had champagne and dessert waiting. A truly fancy evening, one I'll never forget!
- Last weekend - I went to visit my family for my dad's birthday. I got in town on Friday night. We ate dinner at Cafe Madrid in Dallas, which is a tapas restaurant. I recommend it for you Dallas-ites. Very good Sangria! On Saturday we went to the Fort worth Stockshow. Watched the auction, some some animals, rode some rides, and had a lovely day with my dad, kate, and steve. That night my dad made steaks, and we had potatoes and wine. It was tasty! I came back to houston on Sunday, it was sad to leave as always.
-Valentine's Day - yesterday was great! Patrick sent me two dozen roses - mix of white, pink, and red, in a cute white, pink, red vase (notice a theme) and a teddy bear. He picked me up at 730 and we ate dinner at Perry's Steakhouse in Sugarland. It was super tasty and they had a good valentine's day menu (assorted appetizers with shrimp, crab cake, sausage, and fried asparagus with crab meat, filet, and wedge salad with chocolate covered strawberries for dessert). He got me pearl earrings to match the ring he got me for our one year (james avery)! He is such an amazing guy and I am glad that he is my valentine, can't wait for many more!

This coming weekend should be super fun! On friday I am meeting Elaine and Kasey for Sing at baylor!! And then Saturday night going to see Robert Earl Keen at Billy Bob's with Patrick, Elaine, and Brian! Really excited, now just have to get through the work week (i get tomorrow off, yay!)

Much love.

yay: picking up food from My Fit Foods!
dang: my poor callie is in pain b/c of me :(

Celebrate good times.

#1: HAPPY BIRTHDAY DAD! My dad turns 56 today! I'm heading up to Arlington on Friday to celebrate with him this weekend :)

#2: Shelley and Dan are engaged!! I know this is a bit delayed but I was waiting till I had a pic of the two to post on here. Shell is one of my best friends from college. She and I met back in the old Collins days and Zeta pledge days. We had a great time throughout college, including a trip to Colorado, and lots of Zeta functions and late night fun. I also met Dan freshman year when he and shell first dated, and got to know him throughout our college years and beyond. I'm really excited for the two of them AND she has asked me to be a bridesmaind. Their wedding is coming up on May 16th!

#3: Tracy and Devin are engaged! Tracy is a friend of mine from law school! We met first year of law school during the first few weeks at the beginning of the legal journey. We had a lot of fun times during law school, including many Galveston Bay trips, Las Vegas, MS150, and other various nights of fun. She and Devin started dating 3rd year of law school. He is a great guy and very lucky to be engaged to Tracy. I can't wait for all their wedding festivities!

I'm glad it's Wednesday and I cannot WAIT to go home this weekend to see my family - trips to Dallas and the Fort Worth Stock Show are in store!

OH and Congrats to my friend Cindy on her pregnancy. I am sorry I missed your shower this past weekend, look for something fun in the mail to come! (I'd link you to to her fun blog but I don't know how to do it with just her name as the link...any help there?)

Much love.

Yay: Sunny days.
Dang: Bills.
