One Week

One week, that's all. Until the biggest test of my life, one week. I'm not sure if I should be happy or scared or nervous or excited or whatever. All i know is I am glad I have one week left for two totally contradictory reasons 1. because I am not ready for this test, i'm closer than I was three weeks ago, but not there yet, i'm hoping I am by Tuesday, the 29th at 8am 2. because in one week, well really like a week and a half counting the test, it will be done, the test I have been preparing for since May will be finished and I will no longer have to have it in the back of my mind (well that is until it gets closer to Nov when the scores come out) or feel guilty about living my life and not studying and i will no longer have to study and i get to go to Cancun w/ my boyfriend!!

This will be my last post until after the bar. I really need to be focused on this stuff every minute of the day that I'm awake and not eating this week. I too, like Jen and Elaine had a hard time focusing yesterday. I gave up around 8 pm and relaxed, drank some wine, and watched a movie. It was much needed and I am focusing a lot better today.

BTW there is a hurricane or tropical storm right now, headed for South Texas. Let's pray it doesn't decide to turn directions and head for Houston or I might be taking the bar in Arlington instead...i'm not thinking evacuating right now would be the best use of my study time...

I am looking forward to taking the Bar exam. I know that sounds funny, but I really am. It means that I am one step closer to being a real attorney and practicing law. Its all about perspective right? But there are a few things I'm looking forward to in the coming weeks after the bar:
- Mexico w/ Patrick
- Spending time w/ my boyfriend other than when we study together, which I just don't qualify as quality time. Period.
- Watching movies - Batman, Mamma Mia
- Hanging out with friends
- Sleeping in
- Looking for a job
- Visiting my family.
- Helping Lauren w/ her new house (She and Dave closed today in Pearland!)
- Reading books for fun - i'm reading all the Sue Grafton - Kinsey character books, they are good!
- And numerous other things I can't think of but i'm sure will be fun.

Well that is all my friends. You'll hear from me on the other side of the bar exam. A lot less stressed and with a lot more time.

Much love.

Yay: Lauren brought me dinner for tonight, such a good friend!
Dang: Bar.

My life in pics right now.

I should be studying. And you are probably thinking, why aren't you studying. Well because every now and then I like to take a five/ten minute break to do something that I want to do. And that's what I'm doing by posting these pictures. There you have it :)

Here are some pics from last weekend at Boerne. Mostly just pictures of Patrick's adorable neice and nephews. I love them. These belong to his brother Travis, his neice Noel is a little shy for the camera.

This is a little piece of Heaven in the hill country of Texas.

This is Ashton. Adorable.

This is Tristan. Also adorable.

This is Victoria. Adorable.

THis is a picture of Travis, Patrick, and Patrick's friend from Amarillo Dusty (he's really tall). Note the hat Patrick is wearing - he plans to wear it the entire time we are in Mexico, ha.

Here is also a pic from my sister Kate's birthday dinner of Patrick and I:

And of course a pic of the birthday girl and my bro in law!

This is where I sit and study everyday from 9 am till 7 pm. Atleast I can stare out the window... (sidenote- this table is normally not in this position, I put it here for the bar studying)

And this is a picture of the area next to the table. I attempted in the first week to keep things organized, but that has failed as you can tell. The blue and red books are the FUN that is the MBE (multiple choice) and the binder holds all the notes. Don't worry I have two more of those binders.

I guess i suppose its time to get back to studying search and seizure. 10 1/2 more days of studying to go!

Pause Button anyone?

Do you ever wish you could just press pause on things? I wish I could right now. I would like to be able to study for the next 13 days (yes that's it my friends, only 13 more days) without interruptions or having to take care of other things. I want to press pause on everything in my life that takes time to do. (well not showering and eating and sleeping). Not the fun things of course, like seeing my boyfriend (for like a minute a day or when we are both heads down studying which is every night, yea we study together at night, cute, i know), or hanging out with friends, watching SYTYCD, but other things, like paying bills, or deciding whether or not I want to stay in my apartment for another year which i have to decide by July 30, which just happens to be the second day of the bar, oh and i have to decide what new insurance I want since all of my eye, doctor, prescription, dental insurance expires on July 31 (the third day of the bar), or maybe pause on doing dishes, have a little fairy come clean up after me so I dont' have to worry about that too? If anyone can provide me w/ a pause button for the chores in my life right now I would greatly appreciate it! I definitely did start crying on the phone with my dad today (who mind you does NOT handle crying/emotions well at all) when we were just talking about my apartment and health insurance woes. I really wanted to at that point just ask if we could revert back 8 years and he would just take care of it all for me. Oh those were the days. But alas I am an adult and normally a responsible one at that, just not for the next 3 days if it involves anything other than studying for this test..

On that note, there really are only 13, well i guess now 12 1/2 more days of studying. 16 until the bar exam is over. Hard to believe its come this far. I'm on the track to being ready, not ready by any means, but on the right track (hopefully, I guess that will be determined July 29. 30, 31).

All my fellow bar exam sufferers- Good luck studying! We've come this far! Somewhere in our brains all this stuff is going. Not sure where though.

Ok should get back to reviewing wills/estates now.

Much Love.

Yay: taking a movie break tonight after studying.
Dang: duh...

It has begun to kick into high gear.

I know the blogging community is probably tired of reading about me studying, but alas, that is all I do. Luckily I had an entertaining weekend to releave some stress before today (yes, July 7) began. On Friday I went down to Galveston to Mary's beach house to spend some quality time with friends. We hung out mostly inside because it was raining, but it was nice to spend some time away from all our outlines. No worries though, we took a good hour to do some studying while it was raining. That night Patrick and I went to watch fireworks with our friends Evan and Brandi. I love Fireworks!! I'm not sure Patrick quite understands my fascination with seeing them, but I HAVE to see them on the Fourth. Its like a requirement. And they were great! On Saturday we went to Willie Nelsons Family Picnic. I had plans to take some pics, but the stupid security guard wouldn't let me bring my camera in, dumb, especially when they should really be searching for more dangerous things, like knives, guns, etc. I know copyright stuff, but still. How many pics are there of Willie out there? Probably a lot. That was a LONG but fun day. The sun was hot, got stuck in a thunderstorm (luckily Patrick had bought me a purple poncho - it ended up leaking too which he said that he knew Id be more concerned about the color of it than i would the actual protection it provided, ha, he was right) Willie didn't perform till like 9 pm. Patrick and I ate at the buffet inside for an hour to escape the heat, that was a nice change. Right after my 30 minute nap in the lawn chair, slouching so the sun wouldn't burn my shoulders. Merle Haggard was supposed to perform but apparently was sick from the concert the night before. Oh and there was some awesome people watching. I won't describe here, but let's just say saw some middle aged women fight, and a middle aged woman go topless. I could've gone without both.

Now its back to the bar studying. Today started my 3 1/2 week super serious study mode. I have my time partitioned out into specific subjects. Which leaves about 30 minutes for lunch and an hour for dinner. I'm making myself work out in the mornings to relieve stress and make sure i stay in shape from sitting on my butt for 10-12 hours each day. I can't believe the bar is in 3 weeks. Its really crazy that its this close and how not ready I am. On that note, I should get back to studying....DOn't worry I've only had about 3 freak outs in the past week. Apparently imagining the worst possible outcome will do that to you. SO now if i just study all the time I don't have time to have those thoughts. Good idea...

Much love.

Yay: homemade ribs/mac n cheese with the sister and bro in law last night.
Dang: guesss....
